Court
The court to be used is the same as for classic bocce.
Targets
They are placed in the positions indicated in Figure 33 (Appendix 1 – Drawing 4). The 6 positions are 80 cm apart from each other. The first is at 55 cm from the 1st line.
Equipment used
Balls used by the thrower: at least 3 balls per player. |
Target balls: They have a 100 ± 1 mm in diameter and 800 ± 10 g weight. There must be two target balls per mat; they are white and made of synthetic material. |
Ball-stand: its height must be adjustable, with a variation between 60 cm and 100 cm; its base must guarantee stability on the ground and be: |
adjustable in height continuously or in increments of 5 cm maximum, |
the stand must be placed so that the vertical projection of the ball is positioned past the 2nd line. |
Mats (see Figure 33): 4 mats are needed for a game between two players. These are made of synthetic material and must comply with the following technical requirements: |
length: 5,20 m ± 0,05 m, |
width: 0,75 m ± 0,05 m, |
thickness: 6 mm ± 0,5 mm, |
minimum weight: 4,5 kg/m2, |
holes for positioning of balls and jack: Ø = 20 mm. |
Validity of the throw
A throw is valid when the target ball, regularly struck, is definitively moved from its location (the hole on the mat) on which it was positioned. The point of landing must be completely within the cutout area on the mat.
The thrower must pick up the throwing ball from the ball-stand. In no case, may be handed to him. If this occurs, the throw is null (when 3 such violations occur, the player is disqualified). Similarly, the throw is null if the referee notes an incorrect positioning of the target ball.
Scoring
The number of points scored corresponds to the number of each regularly hit, as shown in Figure 33. Each target validly hit is worth one point.
Rules
The game involves hitting regularly and progressively, the first-time round, and regressively, the second time round, the greatest number of the balls possible in a given time (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3…), this time being set out in the rules of the game.
The player throws alternatively first in one direction, then in the other direction of the court. He/she is continually in a state of running.
Only a regular throw (i.e., ball hit regularly) allows for progression to the next target ball (from the closer position to the furthest and vice versa).
A throw is deemed to be regular and therefore valid if it the point of landing is within the throwing zone and if the target ball is definitively displaced from its position (the hole on the mat).

If a tie situation occurs and the Regulations of the game do not provide for a tie, the players will have to play a supplementary game the duration of which will be limited to half the time of the game which resulted in the tie. Between the two games, the players will be allowed to rest for 30 minutes.
