World Petanque and Bowls Federation - WPBF (The Federation Mondiale Boules & Petanque - FMBP) is essentially an umbrella organization, which unites the three international federations governing the sport of bowls (bocce): 

Volo/Lyonnaise:  Federation Internationale de Boules - F.I.B (World Bocce Federation) 

Raffa:  Confederazione Boccistica Internazionale - C.B.I. (World Raffa Bocce Federation)

Petanque:  Federation Internationale de Petanque et Jeu Provencal - F.I.P.J.P.  (World Petanque Bocce Federation).

The C.M.S.B. was recognized by the I.O.C. (International Olympic Committee) the 15th October 1986 in Lausanne during its 91st session. The WPBF is a member of the A.G.F.I.S. (Association Generale de Federations Internationales de Sports), of the I.W.G.A. (International World Games Association), and the A.R.I.S.F. (Association of Recognized International Sports Federations). 

The dossier requesting admission to the Olympic Games was deposited before the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne on June 15, 1996 and updated on May 27, 1999. It follows its path supported by a growing number of affiliated countries.

WPBF was accepted to the International World Games Association (I.W.G.A.) under a new name on May 3rd, 2023.
